Milteri Tucker

Milteri Tucker was born and raised in Puerto Rico. She is the founder and artistic director of BOMBAZO Dance Co., New York’s leading Bomba dance company. Ms. Tucker holds degrees in dance, biology, and chemistry from New York University, as well as a master’s degree in dance education. She has performed and showcased her work at prolific theaters including New York City Center, Alvin Ailey, Pregones Theater, Thalia Spanish Theatre, Castillo Theatre, El Museo del Barrio, and Lehman Center for the Performing Arts. As an educator and master Bomba dancer, Ms. Tucker lectures in dance departments internationally and has worked for dance companies and choreographers from the United States, Puerto Rico, the Carribbean. Ms. Tucker starred in the Macy’s Herald Square tribute to Josephine Baker in 2007. She has also performed in Broadway’s Easter Bonnet and at the Latin Billboard Awards. Ms. Tucker is featured in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s upcoming 2021 film adaptation of “In The Heights.”
